The important check happens after opening
An inspect link should open the individual item you are considering, not merely a similar design. Match model, finish, exterior, variant and applied details after opening it. If float is available, compare it with the listing. One matching color does not establish that this is the intended item. Repeat the check when a seller supplies a replacement link or changes the offer description. Keep the listing visible for a direct comparison.
Do not turn inspection into third-party login
Use your usual Steam or game client for viewing. Stop if an external page requests a password, cookies, Steam Guard code or software installation for inspection. Do not execute technical commands embedded in an item description. The link and accompanying text are seller-provided data, not trusted instructions for your account. Obtaining an image does not require disclosing account secrets to the person offering the item.
Resolve mismatches one field at a time
Suppose the opened item has the desired finish but a different exterior label. Request the correct link rather than continuing the price comparison on the assumption of a typo. If the name matches but stickers differ, ask whether the image belongs to the same specimen. Record the precise discrepancy: it is easier to obtain corrected information from a specific mismatch than from a general statement that the link is wrong.
Check the inspection result against the offer
| Field | Comparison |
|---|---|
| Model and finish | Complete match |
| Variant | Prefix preserved |
| Exterior and float | Available data agree |
| Stickers and tag | Same individual details |
| Specimen | Connection to the offer confirmed |
A broken link does not establish that an item is absent; a replacement may be needed. Until corrected, leave individual attributes unconfirmed. See the catalog image guide for representative artwork versus specimens. The finder can locate a design but cannot replace checking the specific offer.
