Why your CS2 Armory Pass is not showing credit progress

Owning an Armory Pass is not enough: it must be activated, and progress comes from eligible XP on official Valve servers. Start by checking the account, the pass state and whether the match issued XP. Do not confuse Armory Credits with the weekly care package, Steam Wallet funds or a website’s promotional balance.

Locate the missing stage

Suppose you expected progress after one match. Before judging the amount, identify which stage you actually completed.

The inventory-status explanation helps keep a real game item separate from a website record.

Check activation and the account

Steam’s FAQ identifies Prime as the purchase prerequisite and activation as the prerequisite for earning credits. Confirm both on the account you are actually using. Merely viewing the pass or remembering a purchase does not establish its active state.

Read the activation decision before accepting it: the FAQ distinguishes an unactivated pass from an activated one for refunds. It also says passes cannot be gifted, traded or sold. Treat these as conditions to understand, not an invitation to buy additional passes while diagnosing the first one.

Review what happened in the match

Use the completed match and its XP information rather than estimating progress from elapsed time. The official FAQ lists non-Prime matches, leaving before completion XP is issued, and a match cancelled for irregular gameplay involving you or a party member as reasons progress is not issued.

Record the actual notice if one appears. A quiet progress display alone does not identify which reason applies. Check one recent example carefully instead of extrapolating from several matches you cannot distinguish. Do not infer a universal number of minutes or wins per credit.

Do not expect the old activation credit

Older instructions can describe an immediate credit on activation. Valve removed that behaviour in November 2024: the pass’s forty credits must be earned. An old screenshot is therefore a poor baseline for a newly activated pass.

Keep a dated note of the source you use when checking a guide. The official-update checklist helps distinguish a changed mechanic from an unexplained error. This is also why an article should not present a launch-era screenshot as proof of the present initial credit balance.

Separate pass completion from the current catalogue

The FAQ allows up to five passes to progress simultaneously and describes forty credits per pass. This is a limit, not advice that you need five. It says completed passes can be cleared to make room for new ones, while passes themselves do not expire.

A limited item’s tile can still show its own availability period. Do not treat pass duration and catalogue availability as the same thing. Read the current item before spending credits. The reference-price guide helps keep a displayed item and an assumed financial return separate.

Make a short, useful progress record

Note the account’s Prime status, the pass’s active or completed state, and the eligible XP result you checked. If those facts still leave a mismatch, preserve the game’s message and use official support. More purchases are not a diagnostic requirement.

A personal session-limit note can help keep this review bounded. Credits cannot be purchased separately under the cited FAQ, and they are not a CaseCS2 bonus or cash balance. Finish by identifying the uncertain stage rather than assigning an invented value to missing progress.

For mode access, first check Prime and CS2 Profile Level 10 for Premier.

Questions and answers

What you should know before you begin.

Does buying a pass immediately give its first credit?

Valve removed the immediate activation credit in November 2024. Do not use the earlier behaviour as the current baseline.

Can I purchase credits directly?

The cited Steam FAQ says credits are earned through eligible XP, not purchased separately.

Must I activate five passes?

No. Five is the supported simultaneous-pass limit, not a requirement to diagnose or use one pass.
