Pending and accepted Steam offers: identify the actual stage

An offer awaiting action is not a completed transfer.

What happened

An offer awaiting action is not a completed transfer. A website request, a Steam notification, an offer, and an inventory record can describe different stages. Diagnose the stage actually shown instead of treating every success message as delivery. If the page says a request exists, that may only identify the request; inspect the corresponding Steam record before deciding that the item arrived or that the operation failed.

What to check

Find the exact offer inside Steam. Read its current state and whether a confirmation or recipient decision is still required. Compare the identifier, recipient, and item list with your intended site request. Keep the original request reference available while investigating. Do not submit another delivery merely because the first record is waiting: a replacement action cannot accept the existing offer and may introduce a second confusing timeline.

Worked example

For example, the site shows a submitted request while Steam still presents an offer awaiting action. The browser animation has finished, but that visual event does not settle the trade. Inspect the offer directly and determine what remains. If the item later appears in Steam, compare the item and offer history with the original request rather than assuming any similar weapon card proves the intended delivery.

Result and next step

A resolved diagnosis can state whether the offer is awaiting action or has an acceptance record, and can identify the matching request. Send both references and visible statuses with timestamps when they disagree. Never invent a completion deadline from the word pending. Read Steam trading guidance and CASECS2 operation stages. A paused withdrawal feature remains separate from the status of an already existing record.
