A blocked recipient and a pending offer: inspect both records

A blocked-account setting and the state of an existing offer are different records.

What happened

A blocked-account setting and the state of an existing offer are different records. Do not infer acceptance, cancellation, or continued waiting from the block list alone. Begin with the particular offer you are investigating. It may have been created before the account setting changed, and the interface should be read directly rather than interpreted through an assumption about what blocking must have done.

What to check

Locate the original offer and record the exact current state. Open the actual recipient from that record, then inspect your own blocking settings for the same account. Note when the block was added and whether it was intentional. If the recipient or change is unexpected, pause approval and ask about the existing site request before changing or replacing it. Keep account references and request identifiers together.

Worked example

For example, you block an account after unwanted messages, then notice an older offer still listed as pending. The block entry does not tell you whether that specific offer has been accepted, canceled, or remains actionable. Inspect the offer itself. A stranger claiming that you must unblock their account to receive a valuable skin does not supply evidence about the original request or prove they are its intended recipient.

Result and next step

The resolved diagnosis states both the actual offer status and the reason for the account block. Send the offer reference, visible state, and time of the settings change if support needs to reconcile the request. Do not unblock an unfamiliar account simply because a message demands it. Consult Steam trading information and recommended trading practices. The practical goal is evidence about two records, not a guessed rule that silently converts one status into another.
