Avoid price comparisons that mix item variants

A large price gap can come from comparing different objects. First confirm that listings refer to the same item variant.

Establish what the prices describe first

A price gap cannot establish a bargain when the sample mixes variants. Match model, finish, exterior and prefix before calculating anything. Separate ordinary examples from individually decorated items when those details matter to your choice. Do not group a container, sticker and weapon under one familiar keyword. Each amount needs a clear comparison object; otherwise an average describes none of the candidates accurately. Keep the underlying identity visible beside every amount.

An invalid average example

A hypothetical table contains an ordinary weapon, a StatTrak version and an example with different stickers. Despite sharing a finish, their combined average cannot establish that the ordinary item is inexpensive. Separate rows by base identity first. Assess decoration separately without inventing a premium for it. Then compare offers meeting the same conditions. If there are few comparable records, state the small sample instead of making a confident valuation from unequal objects.

Check currency and value type

For each amount, establish currency, observation time and meaning: an offer, reference figure or another value type. Do not compare an unexplained number with a current listing. If currency conversion is needed, retain the rate and calculation date. Include additional fees only when the specific source's conditions confirm them. A reference card alone cannot promise availability or the final payable amount. Distinguish indicative discovery data from a verified individual offer.

Use the finder budget for initial discovery, checking availability and conditions separately. Read the StatTrak variant guide for hidden prefix differences. Avoid replacing missing comparable evidence with an emphatic bargain claim.
