Change a saved trade link without losing an existing request

Updating a recipient setting and changing an already created delivery request are different actions.

What happened

Updating a recipient setting and changing an already created delivery request are different actions. A profile edit should not be assumed to rewrite a request being processed. First identify whether you are preparing future use or resolving an existing record. That distinction prevents a new link from being mistaken for proof that an earlier offer now has the right recipient.

What to check

Copy the current address from the correct Steam account and save it privately in your profile. Reload to confirm the new value. Request a fresh check for that address; the previous verification does not automatically describe the replacement. If a delivery request already exists, retain its identifier and ask about that specific record before canceling, duplicating, or replacing it to force a different recipient.

Worked example

For example, you discover an outdated token after a request was created. Saving the new link prepares later operations, but the original record still needs reconciliation. Record when you changed the address and when the request was made. If support asks which value was used, describe the timeline without posting both full tokens in public. A profile screenshot alone cannot explain an earlier request’s saved recipient.

Result and next step

A successful change leaves the intended link persisted and separately checked, with any prior request’s status understood on its own. Support needs the request identifier and change time, not a login session. Do not promise that editing settings repairs every pending offer automatically. Read Steam trading information and CASECS2 workflow. Withdrawals are currently paused; changing or checking a link does not create a delivery or remove an inventory item.
