Inventory planning

Compare an inventory before and after a change

Create two comparable boards and highlight only the differences relevant to your task.

Define the specific decision

Create two comparable boards and highlight only the differences relevant to your task.

For candidates relevant to “Compare an inventory before and after a change”, use the skin finder. Keep this task separate from your broader inventory plan.

Read the worked example

Two rows of four cards differ in one rifle; image size, background and the order of the remaining cards are identical.

Comparability matters more than the number of images. Use identical cropping, backgrounds and weapon order in the original and revised rows. Mark the changed card with a small caption rather than enlarging it, because enlargement creates its own impression of importance. Examine the whole set first and the replaced entry second. In the example, three unchanged cards provide the control surroundings. If the new rifle improves its individual appearance but disrupts the palette, record both observations. Keep the original row visible after choosing a favourite for the final check. Save the pair with a date and objective. A later review can use it as the previous version instead of reconstructing the old set from memory.

Use this task checklist

  • Save the original board.
  • Duplicate it for one change.
  • Label the goal and visible difference beside the pair.

Recognise the failure condition

Comparing different scales and backgrounds instead of the actual replacement.

Two boards make the specific change assessable without visual distractions.

Apply the additional check

Label boards before or after with dates, but avoid calling one best before comparison because that directs attention prematurely. Describe the replaced rifle through an observation such as lower contrast or a stronger main colour. When two people discuss the board, keep their personal assessments separate rather than presenting an average opinion as objective. Give the original equal image quality. Matching conditions reveal differences between the options rather than differences in screenshot processing.
